Amber Albrecht

I came across Amber's illustrations last year via the Pikaland illustration blog. I have never seen anything like them before....so so beautiful and heavily detailed. Amber is very inspired by folklore and other cultures, literature, natural history, typography and the environment. The mediums used throughout her illustrations are ink and serigraph. I really like the ones with the cottages and houses set within beautiful dream-like gardens.

Amber describes her work as....'I portray dream-fueled absurdist situations, which often draw heavily on my cloudy recollection of the storybooks of my childhood, saturated as they were with strange creatures, impossible happenings and oneiric landscapes'.
