GOOD TIMES!!!!

Mail art from Deirdre McCormick

Yesterday I received one of the most beautiful mail art packages EVER!!!! This big box came to my door adorned with drawings of flowers and dots all over it, and lovely flower tape. I am totally overwhelmed by the sheer generosity and attention to detail, just outstanding :) This is going to be a long post of photos.

The first thing I came across was the most gorgeous smell of Vanilla and Coffee. The smell came from some tags that Deirdre attached to everything. I want to eat them, cause they smell so good. They remind me of the notes in Alice in Wonderland.

The first thing I received was a lovely notecard.
(please excuse my bad photographs...the lighting was terrible yesterday. Click on the images to see the details better).

A 'PAAS' classic Easter Egg Decorating Kit.
I've not seen one of these before.

Some Goose feathers and lovely hand dyed blue Doilies, I can't wait to have my next party and use these. I've got an idea for the goose feathers, but not sure how it will plan out
(watch this space).

The most beautiful vintage beads in a pot. I think I may use them in my next embroidery piece.
I think they are mainly glass. My favourite ones are the orange and green leafs so cute.

Vintage flour sack material which women used to make dresses during the Great Depression. There's a bit of history for you. I love all of them, but my favourite is the autumnal red maple leaf design.

A beautiful vintage clip-on earring, with pearls and rhinestones in it. I may make this into a brooch or add it on a necklace, I'm sure yet. I have a thing for clip-on earrings and have quite a few now.

Vintage bird cards that came in boxes of baking soda in the 1940's/50's.
Each one has its own little pouch. These are to die for, they are all so beautiful.

Lots of Vintage Ephemera

1. Colour chart, the front is very quirky.
2. McGregor Knows The Ropes and Banquet menu
3. Zodiac Guide and famous peoples birthdays 1947, I've never seen one of these before.
4. Avertisment papers about Wallpaper. I love the old ways of advertising.
5. 3x funky and 1x Scenic patterned wallpaper sheets, which I may collage with or draw on.

I actually cannot believe I got this drawing...I knew she was going to draw me a brooch, but I did not realise she was going to give me the original of this one. It is one my favourites from her drawing collection. The colours and textures are simple divine. I am so honoured to have received this beautiful drawing. All I need now is to get it framed.

And last but no least......

My mouth dropped by this point I was not expecting these beauties. I got 5x Vintage maps, which I assume are from an old Atlas. They are from 1910. These took my breath away.

Alaska....

Kentucky and Tennessee.....

New York.....

United States....

Ohio....

OH MY GOODNESS..... Thank you so much Deirdre. Lets just say I was left quite speechless after opening up all my goodies.

Postcard Heaven

As you may have seen before on my post from yesterday, I have started to collect stamps. Buy searching for stamps I came across Vintage postcards as well, so I now collect these too.

Here below are my first Postcards:

From left to right....

1. Bear Cubs Yellowstone Park, year unknown I would say it was early 1900's.
2. Birthday greetings with deer and bird, with USA Stamp 1910.
3. Matterhorn Switzerland with Berlin Stamp, 1905.

Mail Art Package from Saylor Made

Today I got an awesome package from @saylor_made (aka Jeannine Saylor). The envelope she made was fab and really made me laugh, such a quirky idea with the Lizards and speech Bubbles. I also really love the polar bear stamps, so darn cute.

First I found a lovely hand written letter which has a little ant sticker on it as well as printed flowers.

below is a Swear card saying the word 'Blarg', an illustrated frame with a found cut out behind it (so sweet) and a message Rolodex saying 'You are important'. This made me smile, Yes I am important...he he.

Jeannine is a girl after my own heart, we are both into stamps and I just love the print she sent me of her favourite stamps, as she mentioned in her letter. I love anything with ships on it. The stamp at the bottom really interests me, it looks like a wave crashing against the sand. Very Beautiful.

I also got a print which has one of Jeannine's cornflower silhouette's on it in beautiful greens, blues, purple and orange tones. And finally an image transfer of  a camera silhouette in blues and orange. The texture on the paper feels so soft almost like fuzzy stickers.

Thank you so much Jeannine :)
