Collaboration No.1

Sorry for the bad lighting in these photos, but today has been dark and I have been itching to show my first finished piece that I have collaborated with Jessica Gowling. Jessica printed three of the same bird (a yellow headed blackbird) on seperate pieces of fabric which she thought I could add some of my embroidery too. The idea is that I sew either a rock, branch or whatever I want so that the blackbird has something to stand on. I am very happy with my first piece, but the next one is going to be totally different, in fact I have nearly finished that one too, so watch this space.

Last week I commissioned the very talented Jaymie O' Callaghan to make me one of her illustrated necklaces. I have been loving all her cat ones recently and just had to have one. I love the textural mark making and the soft colours used. Isn't the little polka dot bow so cute. I can't wait to wear it and I have the perfect earrings to go with it. I also loved how the necklace was presented as it came in a little organza pouch filled with rose petals, lilac and tiny cut out butterflies. Please visit her lovely shop here.
