Received this very lovely and thoughtful mail art from my friend Jessica Gowling. We always take funny digs out of each other on twitter and she said she spent a little more on postage so I could have a large bear stamp and called me a spoilt little brat, the cheeky thing :P This stamp is so AWESOME!!! The detailing in the illustration is beautiful. Why did the stupid post office have to ruin it buy stamping on it. I think I'm going to frame it.
Got lots of lovely paper ephemera and stickers. I love the ship cigarette card and the sticky notes are just what I have been after so I'm going to use them on my mail art envelopes. You will see in the photo below a quote about friends which I thought was so nice and on the back it says 'A friend that ain't in need is a friend indeed'.....awwwwww.
Below is a ship transfer which I can't wait to use, I just need to decide on what maybe I could make a calico purse and iron it on that. It would go with one of my tote bags which has a ship on it. I love the whole nautical theme running through this package, you know me well Jess.
I also got this lovely old children's book about an owl that is a pet and terrorises a neighbourhood (sounds fun to read). Inside Jessica wrote a very touching note that brought a little tear to my eye.
and then look at what the cheeky monkey ticked below.
And last but not least I got this great D.I.Y sheet showing you how to make folded box trays and a bigmouth note. It suddenly gave me a great idea for my mums Mothers day card. Below you can see the result of what I made. Its meant to be a vase with flowers in it. Its a bit different and my mum just loved it. Thank you Jessica for your wonderful package.
